A new function in a few nanometers
Plasma deposits ultra-thin functional layers that give your surface a property it didn't have, without changing its core.
When the material isn't enough
What if the problem isn't your product, but the surface receiving it?
Your part does its mechanical job well, but its surface needs to do something else: repel water, glide better, resist a chemical, host a precise chemical function. Switching materials is expensive and affects everything else. Plasma thin-film deposition adds the desired property only where it matters — at the surface — without touching the part's bulk properties.
Plasma, in practice
A tailored property
Hydrophobic, hydrophilic, barrier, anti-stick: the layer's chemistry is defined according to your goal.
Ultra-thin and conformal
A few nanometers that follow the part's geometry without added thickness or masking fine details.
No bath or solvent
A dry deposition process, cleaner than traditional wet chemistry routes.
Durable
The layer is chemically bonded to the surface, not simply sitting on top of it.
The principle, no jargon
After surface activation, a precursor is introduced into the plasma discharge. The precursor fragments and redeposits on the part as a thin, cross-linked film. By varying the precursor and the process parameters, we choose the chemistry — and therefore the function — of the resulting layer.
From first call to validated process
Diagnosis
You describe your part and your goal. We qualify your case and get back to you within 48h.
Validation
We treat a sample at our Québec facility, characterize the effect achieved, and document the process parameters.
Integration
We define the solution: service treatment, a Plasmino® reactor, or a custom reactor integrated directly into your line.
